Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Windows, Active Directory & VMware Engineer to manage, maintain, monitor, secure, and optimize enterprise Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMware environments. The candidate will be responsible for infrastructure availability, performance, security, troubleshooting, and L2/L3 support across on-premises and hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities

Windows Server Administration

Administer and support Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022 environments.

Build, configure, patch, upgrade, and decommission Windows servers.

Perform server monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.

Implement OS hardening and security baselines.

Manage Windows Failover Clustering and High Availability solutions.

Perform root cause analysis for infrastructure incidents.

Maintain technical documentation and SOPs.

Active Directory Administration

Manage Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) and Domain Controllers.

Configure and manage OUs, GPOs, AD Sites & Services, users, groups, and computer accounts.

Troubleshoot AD replication, authentication, authorization, and trust-related issues.

Work with LDAP, Kerberos, and NTLM.

Support PAM, gMSA, and MFA integrations.

Perform AD security audits and compliance activities.

VMware Administration

Administer VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments.

Provision and manage VMs, templates, clusters, and resource pools.

Manage VMware HA, DRS, and vMotion.

Perform ESXi/vSphere installation, upgrades, patching, and maintenance.

Monitor virtualization performance, availability, and capacity.

Troubleshoot VMware infrastructure and performance issues.

Support SAN, NAS, and virtual storage integrations.

Support disaster recovery and business continuity activities.

Infrastructure Services

Administer and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, NTP, and certificate services.

Support enterprise file services and storage environments.

Perform backup, restore, and disaster recovery activities.

Coordinate server hardware, firmware, and infrastructure upgrades.

Maintain CMDB and infrastructure documentation.

Security & Compliance

Implement Windows and Active Directory security hardening.

Perform security patching and vulnerability remediation.

Support cybersecurity audits and compliance reviews.

Implement RBAC and privileged access controls.

Monitor privileged account activities.

Collaborate with Security Operations teams during security investigations.

Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and standards.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server Administration.

Excellent knowledge of Active Directory, AD DS, GPO, DNS, and DHCP.

Strong VMware experience with vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.

Good understanding of VMware HA, DRS, and vMotion.

Experience with Windows Failover Clustering and High Availability.

Knowledge of PowerShell and infrastructure automation.

Good understanding of LDAP, Kerberos, NTLM, and AD replication.

Experience in server patching, hardening, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Knowledge of SAN/NAS and enterprise storage environments.

Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

Strong RCA, problem-solving, and incident management skills.

Good communication and documentation skills.

Good to Have

Experience with PAM, gMSA, and MFA.

Exposure to hybrid infrastructure/cloud environments.

Knowledge of vulnerability management and security compliance.

Experience working with enterprise monitoring and ITSM/CMDB tools.

Relevant Microsoft or VMware certifications.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Strong L2/L3 infrastructure support experience.

Ability to independently troubleshoot complex Windows, AD, and VMware issues.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Comfortable working with cross-functional infrastructure, security, application, and operations teams.
